CAN-CAN, Souvenir Program, 1953, Tryout/ Preview. The musical opened in NYC on 05/07/53 and ran for 892 performances. Inside are rehearsal photos, headshot photos and bios. The title page and rehearsal photos are red and white. The cast includes Lilo, Peter Cookson, Hans Conried, Gwen Verdon, Erik Rhodes, Phil Leeds, C.K. Alexander, Robert Penn and Richard Purdy. Music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book&nb...sp;by Abe Burrows. Directed by Abe Burrows and choreographed by Michael Kidd. The program is complete. This is NOT a reproduction!!Note: Souvenir programs are 9 x 12 inches but may vary somewhat in size.Condition is very good with minor surface wear. CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition.
