This listing is for a set of 3 royal worcester hand painted and signed fruit plate. The artist signature, W.BEE is on each plate.Each plate is painted with a variety of fruits and berries and although similar no 2 plates are alike.These plates were commissioned by DAVIS COLLAMORE of New York in 1929.They are decorated with raised gold gilding on the surface and patterned gold gilding around the perimeter of the plates. The width of the gilding at the outside edge is 5/16 inch.The... gold gilding is intact.
Inspected under black light, 2 of these plates are free from chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. The 3rd shows some crazing clearly visible under magnifying glass inspectionEach plate bears the royal worcester puce stamp for 1929 along with the Davis Collarmare & Co Ltd, 7 and 9 East 52nd Street New York. As well there is a gilders mark Z32
The plates measure 9 3/8 inch diameter and they collectively weigh 3 lbs.
