For auction is a nice vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a great arts and crafts shaped vessel. I would call this a "Swollen Squat Shoulder" vase. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it measures 4 3/4" tall and is 4 1/4" in diameter at the shoulder.
The vase displays a squat swollen form. It has a wonderful sea foam semi matte green glaze. The vase is further accented with incised panels that surround the vase. There are 6 of the panels and there... is an incised ring at the top and bottom of the panels giving it that arts and crafts flair.
The vase is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom with Rookwood's "Reverse RP and Sunburst Logo" along with the Roman numerals XXIX for the year of manufacture, 1929. It also has the mold number "6098" just under the date.
