Original Description:
This is a small mid-century...demonic-appearing mask made of bronze.
The sculpture on it's 3.5" x 2.25" x 0.75 inch stone base measures 4.5 inches in total height.
It has a beautifully aged greenish black patina.  There appears to be a worn indistinctly signed mark on the back of the mask...which I cannot decipher.  There are no damages to the bronze surface other than a couple of very minor surface scratches.  This statue is wonderfully rendered and must be the wo...rk of an important artist.  I just wish I could discover the artist's name!
The stone (? granite) base is of the style used in the early-mid 20th century.  It has a few very minor chips along some of it's edges...but nothing unsightly.
Please take a close and careful look at the many pictures I have posted as they give a good portrayal of the quality and condition of this unusual and somewhat haunting sculptural mask.
