This is an original 1-sheet movie poster as used in movie theatres. This is in either good, used condition or brand new depending on whether or not it has been used at all. A very lightly used, unrestored poster with fresh, saturated colors. In folded posters, the most minimal wear at the folds is acceptable. Please see description and list of any flaws (below). I have been dealing in movie memorabilia since 1975 and do have experienced knowlege on the grading system. I have noticed that some dealers differ in their opinions on conditions.
Notable defects: * There are four small tears, rips and nicks resulting in border damage & tiny paper loss along the top and left edge of the poster.
* Has many creases.
* This was folded one extra time causing TWO more vertical folds on both sides.The image is fine and would display nicely if framed.Based on your ideas of quality, this could be a candidate for restoration or linen-back.
Still a nice collectible, regardless. This will be sold AS IS! No exceptions. You will not be disappointed.*Please Note* You will receive this poster in folded condition.*Tips*When buying an Original Poster from the 1960's, 1970’s or 1980’s. Check the NSS # National Screen Service as it should always be printed on the poster in the bottom right-hand corner. (There are certain exceptions.) Second: In most cases, there should also be an ink stencil of the movie and the NSS # on the back of the poster. If you don't see, at least, one those 2 things, question the authenticity of the poster. *Note* Sometimes you won’t find these on independent films that weren’t printed by the NSS. Also, most one sheets made prior to 1990 are sized 27x41; most after this date are 27x40. [Unless otherwise specified, poster measurements quoted above are approximate to the nearest inch. For example, if we say a poster is 27"x41" its precise measurements may be something like 26 3/4" x 40 7/8". This is quite common for all original movie posters.]Buyer Advisory - Just a quick warning for fellow collectors getting into the hobby. There are many people selling reprints, commercial prints (may be advertised as International), and video posters and may be trying to sell them as original release posters. "Silent Night, Deadly Night" became one of the most controversial films of the 1980's due to its advertising campaign, particularly its posters.Significant emphasis of protest was that the killer was dressed as Santa Claus which led to parents complaining that their children were terrified of Santa. In response, Tri-Star Pictures recalled the posters from theater owners and pulled the ads from T.V. six days after its release. The film was later re-released by an independent distributor, Aquarius Films, in May 1985 promoting it in an "UNCUT" version and replacing the original poster art of the "Chimney". (Which is the one presented here.)
