The clock features a simple architectural design with hieroglyphics designs to the face in the red marble panels. On top you have the classic Sphinx figure made from solid bronze ormolu which has great detail and is in excellent condition. The case has a beautiful original age patina to the slate with a sheen that can only be produced over time and sits elegantly on 4 matching bronze paw feetThe Clock Measures - 12.25 inches high x 10.75 inches wide x 6 inches deepDialThe clock has a 3.5 inch diameter matching slate & red marble dial which has gilded engraved roman numerals. The dial has its original hands and to the centre it has a red marble panel, the dial is protected by the glazed brass bezelMovementThe movement is a high quality French 8 day bell striking movement which strikes on the half past and on the hours, the movement is in full working order keeping time with its french pendulum and comes with a winding key, the movement is signed by the maker Achillies Brocot which would date the clock to circa 1860Condition ReportThis clock is in excellent condition and in full working order, please have a good look over the many Pictures I have provided which can help with any further item description. This is a rare fantastic antique French Egyptian themed mantel clock which has a black slate with red marble case that is in excellent condition for age. The Clock Measures - 12.25 inches high x 10.75 inches wide x 6 inches deep
Dial
