Vintage folk art wood carving of a man using a draw knife to make cedar shake shingles while seated at a bench. The wonderful Quebec carving is signed Helene Gauthier. The carving dates to around the 1970's. The wood carving measures roughly 7.75 inches wide by 5 inches by 5 inches tall. The wood carving is in excellent vintage condition.
Although not marked as such. The carving is done in the style of the carvers from the St Jean Port Joli area.
