Thomas Reppert made pottery in... Greensboro from 1884-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 157-159). About 1850 famed James and Leet Hamilton began making stoneware pottery in Greensboro, Pa. James sold his interest in the pottery to T.F. Reppert in 1880. A great businessman of his time, Reppert was involved with several business concerns around Greensboro for many years. Reppert had a partner when he bought the concern in 1880 and used the stamp "Williams & Reppert" but when Williams left the firm in 1884 the stamp became the one you see on this jug. He used that stamp for the next 6 years.
An incredible, original and scarce piece. In my research, I couldn't find any Reppert stoneware with a small fish like this one.
