Antique Lenox American Belleek Hand Painted Monk Tankard CAC 1889 - 1906
Item History & Price
This one is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing. There are some glaze pops (spots where glaze did not adhere), but that was done during production (SEE pictures with pointer). The backstamp is 'Belleek CAC' with the logo of the artist pallette. The Ceramic Arts Company of Trenton, New Jersey, was established in 1889 by Jonathan Coxon and Walter Lenox and was an earl...y producer of American Belleek porcelain. It became Lenox, Inc. in 1906 and still produces fine porcelain. The painting on this tankard is extraordinary. Such detail and softness at the same time. It has a real Arts & Crafts feel with the earthy colors and subject matter. A true work of art on porcelain. The tankard measures 5 1/2" Tall x 4 1/4" at base. A stellar piece of collectible antique Lenox.
