This is a small card signed by deceased British preacher CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON. Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a Reformed Baptist preacher who became known as the Prince of Preachers. He pastored the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London and founded Spurgeon's College. He remains today one of the most influential and best-known preachers in the world.
The card is approximately 3 7/8" by 2 1/4". It was the type often used to secure a person's autograph in his day. He has signed with a ...pen "C.H. Spurgeon". This is NOT a print of his autograph but an actual signature written with a pen.
The card was glued to another page (a common practice of the 1800s). The evidence of the glue remains on the back; however, its removal did not cause any paper loss or affect the thickness of the card. It has some minor foxing from age.
Overall, this card is in excellent condition for presentation for its age.
