This is a beautiful Austrian chunk jewel art noveau lamp from around 1910. This stain glass shade and attached bronze base vintage lamp is clean, and functional, and in wonderful condition. I do not see any cracks in the chunk style glass pieces or the stained glass pieces. The chunk style glass pieces do seem to have a slight patina or protective coating or light film over them, which does not detract from the beauty, or prevent the pieces from being illuminated, both when plugged in,... or in natural sunlight. The bronze looks great with natural wear, or again, a natural patina. There is only one light bulb and it seems to be original. The plug and cord are in wonderful condition, and although they seem to be original to this period, it is possible they may have been replaced. One of the prongs on the cord is ever so bent or slightly leaning, and the round card board piece that covers the prongs is slightly loose. The cord plugs into the wall nicely and the pull chain on this lamp works perfectly. I took four pictures of the lamp from each side. You can see that from certain sides of the lamp the dome glass top does not line up perfectly with the bronze. Also, beneath the stained glass lampshade there a small area, about two inches, where the silver welding seems to be coming loose or apart, but it is ever so subtle, and I could be imaging this. Either way there is a close up photo of this area. The height of this lamp is 17 and 1/4 inches and the width of the stain glass lampshade is 11 inches. Please ask any questions I may have forgotten to write about or ask for certain photos. I know this lamp is rare and the closet one I could find was valued at 3, 000-4, 000 dollars by Arden Family Holdings. I hope someone either buys this for their private collection or to sell and triple their money!!
