Original Description:
This item is truly spectacular. It is heavy cut glass with a sterling silver rim on the jar. I believe it is from Sheffield England or at the very least Henry Hobson and Son (the silversmith)  worked out of Sheffield England in the early 1900's. The silver rim is hallmarked HH&SN and the other marks indicate Sheffield. It has a heavy glass stopper. No chips or cracks. Great shape overall. What I am not sure of is whether it is a tobacco jar or a large vanity jar. It is quite l...arge for a vanity jar, but it is a bit too small (perhaps) for a tobacco jar. In any case, you can use it how you like. It stands about 5 1\2" tall with the lid. A  truly beautiful piece. Buyer pays shipping which includes transportation and packing materials.
