For sale is an Old Antique NIPPON Japanese CORALENE 8 1/2 inch VASE.Bottle shaped with pinched sides.Pink Flowers on a Light Green Background- possibly fuschias or bleeding hearts.The base is marked "U.S. Patent NBR 912171 Feb. 9 1909 Japan" with Japanese characters (see photos).
It measures 8 1/2 inches (about 21.75 cm) in height.The Top Rim measures about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
The vase has damage.There is loss to the applied Cora...lene decoration (a large portion of the top green rim, several green leaves are missing, about 7 or more pink flowers are completely missing, and other pieces of coralene are gone. See photos.)There is a Hairline Crack measuring about 2 1/2 inches long running from the top rim down the neck (see photos. The crack is visible inside and outside).There are a few small star cracks on the very base / underside of the vase by the mark (see photos- these are fairly minor).There are also several black marks / smudges on the lower part of the vase (see photos- we haven't tried to clean these off and don't know if they can be removed).The interior is dirty.There is overall wear.Otherwise, it is in Good Condition- there are no other condition issues or damage.
