Richard Diebenkorn (1922-1993) fampus abstract expressionist artist, authentic work on paper, mixed media oil and other media (charcoal??) on paper; circa 23 x35 inches signed lower right "RD" appears to be an aerial view of possibly a swimming pool and some panes of glass (Diebenkorn became famous when he started making landscapes as you saw them from the air or from an airplane (see e.g. his Albuequere series and Berkeley series which are really landscapes as seen from an air p...lane), AND THIS PAINTING LOOKS LIKE AN EARLY PROTOTYPE OF THE OCEAN PARK SERIES (SEE THE BROAD PANES OF COLOR), and I was going to say that it comes from Samuel Kootz then by accident when I was taking the photograph I found on the back side the following writing: ("Facade with Twist" 1986; (I am guessing this is the name given to it and the date of purchase) and something that looks like auction numbers and the name signed twice looks like "Avery Frunkel" (I am guessing that this is the owners signature) sometimes you need 4 detectives to figure out what has happened with these paintings!!!! still looks like a great painting and I believe it is an authentric Diebenkorn painting probably done around 1970 (for a while he did figurative and then abstract work).
