This is a beautiful Blue Glass Covered Candy or Compote Dish made by the L E Smith Glass Company probably in the mid 1960's.
It is designed with the Moon and Stars pattern and cast in dark blue heavy transparent glass.
The piece with lid is 8" tall and 4" across at the mouth, the base is 3.25" across.
It has sustained substantial damage to the points of the lid six of the eight points are damaged, five with small chips and one with a dime sized chip. The damage doesn't interfe...re with the function of the piece.
