Up for auction with no reserve is a fine c1850 Jennens & Bettridge Mother of Pearl Inlaid Paper Mache Tea Caddy Box. The Tea Caddy Box is a very fine early Victorian example. J & B were highly regarded for producing quality papier-mâché wares. They acquired the workshops of Henry Clay, Japanner to George III and the Prince of Wales, in 1816.
The Box is in good condition for it's type with general signs of use and small losses consistent with age plus a few small repairs. The Box measures 4-1/4 long by 3 inches wide and stands 3-1/4 inches tall. A lovely and Rare addition to any Tea Caddy collection.
