Very rare and exceptionally beautiful, ca1890’s Hand Blown, Mary Gregory decorated Purple Amethyst colored, Victorian Glass Barber Bottle with an image of a Windmill and text that reads “Hair Tonic”.
This stunningly beautiful Barber Bottle / Hair Tonic Bottle measures approx. 9 1/4" tall (including its original, pewter spritzed) and 3 1/2” at its widest. The Bottle has a tooled lip and rough, open pontil. It is beautifully and delicately decorated in ...the style of Mary Gregory Glass using white enamel and depicting a bucolic scene featuring a central Windmill. Text above the Image reads “Hair Tonic”.
This Bottle came to us from the collection of Joseph Davis of Louisville, Kentucky.
The Bottle itself is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or damage of any kind. The decoration is also exceptionally well preserved with a handful of scattered, tiny nicks as can be seen in the scans below.
