Up for auction is an antique, Japanese, Banko Ware Wall Pocket. This is an awesome piece of pottery with attention to details and vibrant colors. This piece measures approximately 9 1/2" by 4 1/2".
There is a hole on the back of the piece to provide for easy hanging. It provides a nice three dimensional look on the wall.
These pieces were made during the early 20th century.
There is some Japanese writing on the back along with the ...stamp, Made in Japan.
It hung on the wall in my grandmothers home where she keep antique fans in her basket.
I have tried to photograph this piece accurately.
