Original Description:
Early 1843 indenture document signed and dated by Civil War Brigadier General James S. Wadsworth. Wadsworth is well known for his strong stance at Gettysburg during the day 1 battle. his troops were able to hold back the Confederate attacks but took heavy casualties. They would later fight on Culp's Hill. At the Battle of The Wilderness he was shot in the head and would die two days later in a Confederate Field Hospital. He would be awarded the rank of Brevet Major General for his meri...torious service at Gettysburg and The Wilderness. This document is signed in dark period ink by Wadsworth who also dated it Aug, 20, 1843.
