Antique Chinese Eggshell Porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer Qianlong 乾隆 Qing Dynasty 清代 circa 1750A beautiful example of antique Chinese "Famille Rose" export porcelain, an eggshell tea bowl and saucer dating to circa 1750, from the reign of the Emperor Qianlong 乾隆 (1736-95) the Qing dynasty 清代. They are both decorated with a poly-chrome enamel hand painted garden scene with a lady of rank having tea at a table that ap...pears to be partially supported by a tree to the right hand side. On the table, on which she leans, is a tea bowl, a teapot, a meiping (vase) on a stand with flowers and a bowl on a stand filled with peaches.There are two more women in the scene, one appears to be waiting on the seated lady and the other is walking away with a tray with tea bowls on it. Between the two standing ladies there is a young boy running whilst carrying a ruyi (sceptre). Above the scene two small long tailed birds are flying.This theme of decoration is sometimes referred to as mei ren (Chinese for beautiful women), or lange lijzen. a Dutch term which is now generically known as Long Elizas. (Elegant Chinese Ladies).They are in very good antique condition. The saucer has a little damage: There is a filled repaired chip and short associated crack. The teabowl has a few frit marks.
