Original Pontiac Dealer Neon. Face only, as is. No tubing, No transformer, No can. Sold as found. Good condition, porcelain is worn/shiney. Main body is about 21" across with the "sore thumb" feather sticking out another 8-9".
You see the all-too-common defect....feather appears to have been bent at some time in the past and porcelain finish is missing along this line. Can be restored or hung on the wall as is. Same goes with neon restoration. Th...e old chief is worthy of a new can, trans, tubing and electrification. The level of restoration of course the buyers perogotive. One of those projects I planned to get to, however the time has come to move it along. Originally, this WAS a neon dealer sign. Authentic. The feather has seen its better days with porcelain loss as pictured. Feather has not begun to "tear". Please ask questions. Thanks for taking a look. How would you restore it? I think I would leave the face as is, but I would certainly fabricate a new can and bring back neon glow to the iconic deserving Chief Pontiac. But thats just me. And me couldnt get it done!
