This is a beautiful paining from the late 1800s early 1900 in watercolor by this important artist.
It is framed in its original period frame and signed in the lower left “L. Laird”,
which is Luella Laird (1869-1956), who was a California artist who settled in Santa Cruz, CA.
She exhibited at the California State Fair for much of her painting career and is listed
in Artists of California as well as several of the art reference websites.
Laird was a prolific watercolorist and best known for her muted colors and delicate brushstrokes.
