LABELS - EXCELLENT (EX)
VINYL -EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-)
Stunning original 1st West Coast Stereo press (based on the statistics the Stereo press is way rarer than the Mono press) 2nd State Butcher cover. Original thick cardboard paste over trunk cover with a V visible detail (Ringo's sweater). The original Butcher cover is sticking out from under the paste over slick at the top and bo...ttom left. The cover is in the original protective "Sears" distributor baggy, which undoubtedly has played an important role in preserving the cover in a great condition. I've carefully removed the baggy in order for you to see how good the cover is. It's very hard to find such a great copy available at an auction with a clean vivid paste over slick with no tears, scuffs, ring wear or writing. The back cover is also in a great condition, only having a few hints of ring wear and age scuffing. The rigid spine with the easy to read text, including the catalog number. The cover has some vintage age yellowing and some light edge and corner wear. Capitol Records black multi-colored band labels with a catalog number ST 2553 without the "Subsidiary..." text. The labels contain a typical for the Los Angeles pressing vertically condensed font and 1.5' diameter pressing ring. The labels don't contain any scuffing or spindle wear. Heavy weight 1st press vinyl with Side 1: ST-1-2553-A-13 1 ✲ / Side 2: ST-2-2553-B-14 1 ✲. The "✲" pressing stamp, which in the beginning resembled a five pointed star [For Hollywood] and then evolved to a six pointed star "✲", confirms the issue to be a Capitol Records Los Angeles pressing plant press. The vinyl contains some light marks and hairlines.
