Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:13009503 | Original/Reproduction: Contemporary Original |
Color: White | Pattern: Rothschild Bird |
Brand: Herend | Object Type: Covered Trinket Dish |
This pattern first created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain.
Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden and was found several days later by her gardener, who saw the birds playing with it in a tree. That was the inspiration for the design.
This auction is for a covered tri...nket dish with a pink rose on the top with a little vine for the handle. Covered with birds, butterflies, and bugs. Also have 3 feet that look like a tree trunk. Measures 3.5" in diameter and 4 3/8" tall. I cannot read the number on the bottom nor could i find it on line but will keep looking.
These pieces that i am listing have different motifs-and they all go together beautifully as they were created to do. Has the Hallmark on the bottom and most have Hungary under it. They are also marked with the number of the piece but it is not always crystal clear. Trim on all pieces have a basket weave pattern on the outer edge and are trimmed with 24K gold.
Be sure and check out all my Rothschild Bird pieces.
Happy to combine auctions. If you buy more than one listing please wait until i send you a invoice as i need to add insurance and adjust the S/H.
