Artist Roderick Mead ‘Scorpio’ From Zodiac Series 1950’s. The zodiac series by Rodrick was one of his most popular series. I’ve owned this piece for 40 years and it wasn’t until last year when I had it cleaned that I found out that it had been cut to fit the picture frame which was unfortunate. I worked in a custom framing business at the time and it was my boss that gifted me with this and just cut it down to a frame that was laying around. There are only three complete sets... of the Zodiac series one belongs to the family, second one belongs to the Smithsonian Art Institute and the third one belongs to a private party that lives in Arizona. That information was given to me by a curator from Carlsbad New Mexico which was where Mead lived the latter part of his life.
