18NS10 up for high bid auction sale is a very nice neon ray menu board clock sign , this unit is all orignal neon tubes that still light great and look nice , we replaced all the wiring neon transfomer and clock motor and brass works with new components , transformer is USA made and so is the clock works , hansen synchron brand standard 2 prong plug vintage look, gold pull chain to turn neon on and off this clock has a sliding tray element that skides out of the back this unit holds me...tal or paper of plastic letters which you can make or buy , these letters should be made at 2 3/3 tall and this has 3 channels to display the letters that are about 17 inches visible length , many gas stations and restuarants used these to show the special of the day or message of the week or weekly special on auto repair or other messages that commercial stores and retail stores would display in the 1950’s when this unit was most likely made , the menu board area measures from front about 14 inches x 7 1/2 the clock area is 12 x 10 inches , the entire clock measures 23 inches tall from floor to top of handle , the width is 19 inches the depth is about 8 inches , the clock motor has a nice original synchron brass cover and time is set using the brass knob on the back , this clock would have had a hammond spin to start motor in it originally but these burned out fast and did not last so this was removed and this long lasting hansen was added and mounted using a custom made adapter so no new holes were drilled in the casing , the face had rust and some peeling but we cleaned this and applied a long lasting clear coat for durability over time hands except the seconds hand are original to the clock , we fitted a classic looking vintage hand that looks great , orgiinal paint on casing and original manufacturing company tag on the back cover for the transfomer bay , original outer clear blue argon tube and original inner clear red neon tube , classic look mixed blue and red , the red tends to dominate when viewed from far away but closer up you can see the blue and red , keeps great time amd lights up nice and clean , the top of the casing has original handle spot welded on along with two hanger loops welded to the back which are original to the clock , this can be wall mounted or just set on a shelf or placed on the floor sits on its own great , we restored this leaving as much as original as possible including some cob webs and dust , We also have this for sale locally and reserve the right to end this early if this sell through our retail neon shop ,
