ORIGINAL, vintage album release POSTER FLAT. Near Mint condition. This poster flat is 12 inches by 12 inches (approximately 30 x 30 cm). You get TWO of them in this auction offer. * * * VERY suitable for framing under glass – or dry mounting on foam-core ! ! ! What is a "Poster Flat" ? ? ? A "flat" is a two-sided 12 x 12 inch poster printed on cardstock, with a glossy front side and a reverse side that is usually a matte finish (but som...etimes glossy). Originally issued only to radio stations, "brick n' mortar" record stores and concert halls by the promotional department of major (& indie) record companies. Flats are highly collectible and sought after, because the window and store displays that were created from them were hastily torn down as quickly as they were made - ripped and chewed up with staples and tape. These BEAUTIFUL flats survived such a fate! These two flats are in near mint condition, as they were stored in plastic and never used in a display. Yes - you get TWO flats (both the same – see photo below for the two flats side-by-side, with the second one flipped over to show the back). In a full 12 X 12 inches, the album artwork on a flat is displayed in the size it was MEANT TO BE. And with two copies of this collectable piece, you can frame the pair side-by-side or one-on-top-of-another, with GEORGEOUS results.
