I am offering on Buy It Now an antique portrait plate from France. This Limoges Coronet cabinet plate is 10" across. It is hand painted and signed by the artist, Le Pic. The portrait features a monk in traditional brown garb and cap inspecting a glass of wine, possible sherry as monks often made this type of dessert wine. The monk is rosy cheeked and dimpled. He is an elderly monk with white hair and aged features. The background of the plate is a shaded green. The wavy rim has a raise...d pattern and gold rim. There is very minor gold wear and no other damage. The green Coronet stamp has a crown and Limoges. There are holes on the back and a wire for hanging.
