A VINTAGE R. WHITE, CAMBERWELL, LONDON, DARK AMBER LIP, RYLANDS PATENT, 10oz CODD BOTTLE dating back to the early c1900s period that has been found buried in a Victorian rubbish tip a few months ago. In large letters on the front is embossed THIS BOTTLE IS THE PROPERTY OF, R. WHITE, CAMBERWELL, NO DEPOSIT CHARGED. Whilst on the shoulder edge are the words RYLANDS PATENT, SOLE MAKER, RYLANDS, BARNSLEY. Please note that the bottle is very dark aqua givi...ng it a superb green colour tinge to the glass, it looks much better when held in the hand than in the pictures. On the reverse are the words BUYING OR SELLING THIS BOTTLE IS ILLEGAL. The heavily embossed bottle which measures just over 23cm high is in GOOD FAIR CONDITION being clean with no cracks or hairlines, there is no residue left inside either. There is however some mistiness on the inside and a few patches on the outside and a flake on the lip edge as pictured above. The bottle would benefit from a professional tumble or clean if the purchaser desires. I am quite happy to combine purchases for buyers help save money on postage and shipping rates.
