Fenton Art Glass 'Reverse Painted Lamp". This lamp was named Spring Woods by Fenton in 1993. Only 500 were made for the Connisseur Collection.
Signed and numbered. Only 2 lamps were allowed per Fenton/Hallmark store. Reverse Painted on the inside of the shade.
This Lamp is from an Original HANDEL mould and the painting technique is true to the method used by Handel.Multiple painting and firing steps were required to create "Spring Woods" ...Designed by Frances BURTON.
Originally sold in 1993 for $595.00 & twenty six (26) years later, I am offering it for sale for $465.00. 18" Tall. Sand blasted Ivory Glass. I believe this was theFirst Connoisseur Lamp made by Fenton Art Glass. It has made by Fenton....Designed by Frances Burton....Hand Painted and Signed by Beverly (can't make out the last name starts with a C)....and numbered on the rim of the shade.
The 1993 Connoisseur Collection recreated styles and techniques from the Golden Age of Glass. This lamp was inspired by the famous glass designer of the 19th Century "Handel"- This Lamp demonstrates Fenton's skill in theproduction of rare glass. Only 2 lamps per store was allowed. With a total of 500 lamps produced by FrancesBurton. This lamp is signed. A true piece of history and ahard to find and expensive lamp. Originally sold in 1993 for $590.00. The brass has a nice patina. I have nevercleaned it. I will leave that up to the new owner to decide to clean it or not. Insurance will be provided and it will be wrapped extremely well....double boxed with loads of peanuts and bubble wrap. Trying to downsize my cambridge and fenton collection of glassware and lamps.
This lamp is a must for the Fenton Advanced Collector.
