This is especially important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are rough estimates.Way back when, in the 1880's, Clark Stanley spent some time cowboyin' way out west, in Texas. He did not want to engage in the cattle business as it was such hard work but while out there, he came across rattlesnakes and got the idea that if the venom from these wicked looking critters could kill people so bad that certainly the oil from something so mean and ornery ought to be strong enough to kill the 'microbes' that cause affliction and pain. So he decided to experiment with it. Originally from the east coast, he went back to Providence, Rhode Island, with a wagon load of rattle snakes and started his "Clark Stanley Snake Oil Liniment" business. He extracted the oil from them, blended and bottled it, and advertised this concoction as a horse liniment, the "BEST HORSE LINIMENT IN THE WORLD", as this bottle is embossed. He soon realized he could get a greater share of the market if he widened out his target audience and started advertising it as "Good for Man or Beast", so now it was not just limited to use on animals. As a matter of fact, a labeled example of this bottle states, it was used for "Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Sciatica, Lame Back, Contracted Muscles, Sprains, Swellings, Frost Bites, Chilblains, Bruises, Sore Throat, Bite of Animals, Insects and Reptiles". The paper label on the bottle had a picture of Clark Stanley with a 5 - gallon cowboy hat on, a large handle-bar mustache, and surrounded by 2 rattlesnakes, all the right stuff to make for a great old 'snake oil' patent medicine! And there you have it, the birth of the ORIGINAL and TRUE 'Snake Oil' liniment ... check it out!Terms of Sale: Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
