Recent Prominent Washington, DC area estate sale find. This listing is for an absolutely stunning McKee original, c.1928, "Bottoms Up, " Art Deco nude figurine embossed mug. This is the pre-patent variation with the legs open. Public outcry from decency advocate groups from the late 1920's primarily drove the revision to alter this piece to be produced with the legs together. An authentic and very rare variation that was not reproduced like the exampl...es with the legs closed containing no patent number. Approximately 3 1/4" in height, this piece is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, stains or damage; a well cared for treasure. Typical of these pieces from this period, some slight manufacturing imperfections like mold or straw lines/marks, but very insignificant and exceptional with this glass.
