This listing is for my Collectible Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert Commemorative Scarf/Sash/Banner, from the 1992 concert at the old Wembley Stadium, in tribute and to commemorative the life and music of Queen’s lead singer, Freddie Mercury.
He was the ultimate showman, and the concert featured an impressive number of stars - alongside the three remaining members of Queen - in paying homage to his passing.
The banners were available at the event, and this was mine from then - a...s I had been unlucky enough never to see all of Queen perform, but lucky enough to at least be at Wembley stadium attending the most unforgettable concert.
One side of the banner has The Freddie Mercury Tribute, the other side has Aids Awareness. On the sides at either end, it says The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for Aids Awareness, and also the brand QM Productions Ltd on either end on the Freddie side.
It has never been used. I carried it in a bag at the concert, and it has sat in my drawer filled with Queen memorabilia ever since, until moving house, then suddenly there was no drawer for it to live in any more, hence selling this - and I will be listing a number of other Queen items and collectibles.
It is as it was when purchased, albeit it has acquired a number of creases from being in a drawer over the years, which I’m guessing could be ironed or steamed out - just after all this time, I’m not brave enough to try!
Perfect for any Queen lover or collector, for anyone who loves their music memorabilia - but more, it is a little taste of music history, being from the concert paying homage to one of the world’s greats. There will never be another quite like Freddie.
