The 6 x 4 inch document being a note of parole words issued during the Greek War of Independence 20th April 1832.
The document has been signed by Franklin as Captain of HMS Rainbow .
Franklin disappeared while on his last expedition, attempting to chart and navigate the Northwest Passage in the N...orth American Arctic. The icebound ships were
abandoned and the entire crew died of starvation, hypothermia, tuberculosis, lead poisoning, zinc deficiency, and scurvy.
