Offering this very rare piece of Black Americana from the old Coon-Chicken Inn in Salt Lake City Utah. This is one of two unique pieces of letterhead I acquired these several years ago from a large wall display of the local printing company that supplied the C.C.I. with it's paper products. The full size letterhead is printed on watermarked bonded paper that is similar to an onion skin or parchment paper. This one features the black waiter's face with a tiny body showing the various se...rvices and offerings of the C.C.I. The waiter face is on each upper corner with Associated Inns over co-founder Mr. Graham's signature in the middle. There is also a copyright type line at the very bottom I covered with the matchstick to protect from counterfeiting. Unlike so many of the other C.C.I. items, these were never available to the public, but would have only been used for Mr. Graham's business correspondence. The letterhead is guaranteed to be authentic. I've collected Coon-Chicken Inn items (and other Utah advertising) since the early 1980s and have never seen another letterhead like this. These were so unusual I kept them when I sold off the bulk of my collections. Judging from the automobile styling and the earlier "2950" address (later "2960"), I would guess this to be from the late 1920 or early 1930s.
