HiIhave for sale a striking and repeating carriage clock made in Francecircular 1850/70s by I think Margaine but only signed Aiguilles andstanding a massive 8.5” too the top of the handle.Thisis one large heavy clock built to top spec and a must for the best ofcollections with the heavy silvered cast Corinthian columns and themost stunning silvered picture masked dial which simply glimmers oncethe sunlight hits it.Iwill not let this clock go for nothing it is one of my purely lovedcl...ocks a sear beauty so please bid early as I will end if the clockis not where it deserves to be.Thisclock has silvered inner picture frame masks on the front and bothsides , two silvered bands top and bottom plus all four silveredCorinthian columns a very rare clock too come to the market.TheCaseThecase is in solid shiny brass and stands a large 8.5" high x 5”wide with a depth of 4.25” it is in perfect condition with mintthick 8mm bevelled sides/front/back door and top viewing glass. Thecase is very shiny and hard to photograph they do not do the clockjustice at all.Alsonote the movement number and all case parts are stamped with the samebuild number.TheDialThedial is in mint condition in white porcelain and housed in the moststunning gilded mask with silvered picture frame, the dial withArabic numerals , the clock also retains its original fine gilt spadehands.
TheMovementThemovement is an eight day time and strike which strikes the hours viaa blue gong to the rear also has the repeater button on top to repeatthe last hour strike and all running via the original platformescapement.Thewhole movement has been has just been serviced so running strong andkeeping good time , this movement has end stop( Geneva Stop work ) soyou can not over wind again only on the best clocks.Themovement is signed Aiguilles.
