PORT ROYAL 17TH CENTURY TAVERN/BROTHELARTIFACTS recovered in recent times by the seller's crew from ashallow “dig” inland from the site of the 1692 devastatingearthquake the center of “High Street”. The 17thcentury tavern/or brothel was damaged but rebuilt may have been the“Cheshire Cheese” built 1684 (from the I.R.O. Deeds)The following are authentic historicartifacts not replicas: Brass/or Bronze heavy small spike(untouched as recovered) 3 copper Spanish Maravedis Cobsf...rom the reign of Philippe III 1598-1621. Could easily be spent by a pirate/privateer forliquor or a wench. A 17th century ironbuckle that could have been attached to a shoe or breast strap(untouched). Brass/or bronze royalty button (seedesign on face). Prefect as found. Metallic ring (iron) with smalltouch mark in inner center.Again, repeating this site was possiblya tavern/or brothel as all recovered artifacts indicate thispossibility.In its' prime time Port Royal was knownas the most wicked/richest city in the world were every fourthbuilding was either a brothel or tavern; home to pirates, privateers, and Sir Henry Morgan who became Lt.
