As mentioned, it could of possibly been a fish bowl, to keep gold fish, Siamese Fighting fish or even guppies, as drug stores back then carried a wide stock of items on hand. But since it is advertising a "DRUG" store, we are thinking more in the line of an old Leech bowl, as leech's back then were sold for medicinal purposes. These old REXALL bowls aren't commonly found, especially the older original ones like this that have a significant amethyst tint, proving their authenticity. With few exceptions, only glass vessels made from before 1914 will turn this purple color. Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make this a great bowl, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique, check it out!Terms of Sale: Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
