Glass Globe From a 1930's Art Deco Show Globe
These were one of the last true show globes made -- they were designed to sit on top of a metal stand that contained a light to illuminate them.
Blown into a four-piece mold.
There are embossed "double swirl" lines running from top to bottom around the glass from the top to the footed base.
The glass is very thick and heavy and will be shipped without the colored water.
The measurements are:Approximately 8.5 in...ches tall
Condition Description: No cracks. The glass is hazy from holding water for years -- not as noticeable when colored water is added. Globe only -- the lid and base are not included. There is a blemish on the globe that I am not sure if it is a superficial chip or simply a mark -- refer to close up picture.
