Vintage Sunoco 5 Gallon Mercury Made Motor Oil Can Advertising SAE30 Gas Station

Up for offering is a vintage circa 1940's Sunoco 5 Gallon SAE30 oil can in exceptionally clean condition. Measures 10 1/2" in diameter and 17" in height from the base to the tip of the spout. Has some rust on surfaces, seam rings, and scratches on painted surfaces. Still retains the wood handle and all three cap cork gaskets. Inside is very clean but does have a sticky dried oil residue and I can see no evidence of any holes. The last two pictures show the most significant damage that... I can find. There is a small area that has some slight surface rust that is raised underneath the paint near the bottom rim of the can that can be seen in the last picture. The two upper and lower annular body support rings have paint chips around them from having been in contact with other objects. The top surface has a 3" long and about .010' deep indention from something having come into contact with it and has some slight surface wear of the anodized plating on the top surface and filler and spout. There are some surface scratches on the front surface of the can between the letters o and r and has a small 1" by 1" series of scratches on the back side of the can about 4" diagonally down and away from the Mercury made oil logo as can be seen in the third picture. Does not have any major dents. Wood handle is in very good condition with no splits and this can is in untouched original condition having no touch ups and has only been wiped clean with a dry towel.
