For sale we have this beautiful large antique 19th Century Persian brass tray from the Qajar era. The tray dates from late the 1800's. It has been hand chased to a magnificent standard. The level of detail is unbelievable. All over the tray there is flawless scrolling flora...l work, all hand chased. There are also stunning little birds among the foliage in beautiful cartouches.
Beautiful thin bands of very fine geometric interlocking design border the tray. The quality has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. I really cannot stress how beautiful this large tray really is.
ware brass tray. The tray has been inlaid with silver copper. It dates from early 1900’s - around 1920 - 1930. It is a very good quality example, made from thick brass, making the tray strong and heavy.
The centre of the tray has been inlaid with a breathtaking floral cartouche. In the centre there is a circling band of breathtaking Arabic script in the Kufic style of calligraphy. This has been framed within a floral shaped border complete with scrolling vines, again inlaid with silver. There is copper inlaid outlining to the design. The beautiful copper colour beautifully complements the silver and brass tones.
There are six hexagons which has been inlaid with beautiful work, alternating between arabesque geometric designs and calligraphic ones. There are further silver inlaid floral designs within beautiful arabesque frames.
The entire brass background has been hand chased with very fine detailing too.
This is a breathtaking, large Islamic tray of outstanding quality, do not miss out in the chance to own this masterpiece.
