Here is a Rock-Ola model 1606 "Tonette" Speaker, supposedly manufactured from 1942-1949 and meant to accompany the Premier-President-Commando and 1422-1426 and 1428 models. This poor speaker came out of an old bar in Michigan, where it sat unused for decades until recently being rescued. Unfortunately it was not stored well and humidity must have gotten to it and it has come apart at almost all the seams. However, it is complete (but for one small plank on the back door) and has t...he original speaker, volume control and also a larger-than-normal transformer still mounted inside. The bakelite grill is excellent, with no cracks or broken corners. The wood is not rotten or bug-eaten. The original finish on the wood actually still looks good and the wood does not appear to be warped. It will need a lot of regluing, but I think it will actually go back together well and would turn out nice. The last picture shows a strip of veneer that needs to be reglued on the inside wall. I definitely think the speaker deserves to be saved. I took many pictures to show the condition as best I could and happy to send more pictures if you should need then.
