Vintage 1940's Art Deco Moe Brothers Airplane Light Shade. Rare, whimsical, airplane Art Deco ceiling light shade. Circa 1930-1940. It was designed by the Moe Brothers Inc of Fort Atkinson Wisconsin. The two brothers, along with some other entrepreneurs, were the owners of the Moe-Bridges Co., a lighting fixtures manufacturing company, formed in 1919. Problems with management led to the exit of the two brothers from the company in the late 1920's. The brothers formed a new lighting fix...ture company and called it Moe Brothers Manufacturing. I have the propellers, center cover, three airplanes on a red metal band, shade which has been glued, has flea bites on rim. Hard to tell when up. I found a base, not sure if it is a Moe Brothers, but looks to be a pretty close match, it fits together great. There is some white paint around the base of the fixture, where it sits against the ceiling. I would suggest rewiring, before installing. Takes two light bulbs, 60 watt or less.
