Marked with a "Masons Patent Ironstone China" impressed mark in 2 lines (pic #4). That mark was only used from 1815-1825. This jug dates circa 1820. Mason invented and had a Patent on the term "Ironstone China" from 1813-1827. Great shape with a hydra or snake shaped handle. The piece is han...d painted in the Imari palette and is called the Japan or Japan Basket pattern. Antique. Almost 200 years old. Selling AS-IS. The bottom tail of the hydra handle is chipped off (pic #5). There is a small rim chip(pic #6. No other chips, cracks, or repairs. Some minor wear. Typical minor in-the-making imperfections. For display or repair. Considering this is around 200 years old its not too bad and displays nicely. Beautiful early example Guaranteed a true antique and almost 200 years old.
