This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, Edo period ca. 1670 era made blade. It came with NTHK Kanteisho paper, atributed as "Mutsu-no kami Tameyasu 陸奥守為康", submitted on Feb., 25, 2016. The blade is in old polish, no rust, no stain and in good condition. The ...temper line is gunome-choji with nie active temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, no openings, no blisters and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard, no dent, no crack, no lacquer loss and in good condition. Handle is tight fit with shakudo fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Tsuba is marugata shape iron sukashi tsuba with nice patina. It measures 17+1/3" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 5.5 mm thickness at the notch and 25+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $15 priority in U.S. Payment due with in 3 days auction end.
