This is a fairly scarce little 4 1/2"sample size Clark Stanley's Snake Oil Liniment bottle from the 1890s that contained real rattlesnake oil and was sold in wild west shows during the 1890s by the self proclaimed "Rattlesnake King", Clark Stanley. This embossed bottle dates from that 1890s period. You are only buying the ONE small sample bottle on the right....the tall one is listed separately
CLARK STANLEY / SNAKE OIL / LINIMENT (bold emb on 3 sides of bottle) ....Hand blown in m...old....hand tooled ring collar....clear....square....4 1/2"tall x 3/4"square......Excellent condition with only a small 1/4"paper thin flake on side; no other chips or damage. A nice clean bottle with no haze. It has a crude natural lean to one side but stands upright on its own just fine.

With the help of a Boston chemist, Clark Stanley began marketing his SNAKE OIL LINIMENT in the 1880s. Stanley would sell his Snake Oil at traveling wild west shows. In 1893 at the Chicago World's Fair Clark Stanley was a huge success as he exhibited many live rattlesnakes and showed how he made rattlesnake oil.
