For auction is a letter Jerry Lewis wrote to his friend JessRand on November 24, 1992. (Rand was afamous press agent with clients such as Sammy Davis, Jr., Sam Cooke, LeeMarvin, Mel Torme, Glen Campbell, etc.) It’s typed on his letterhead and was mailed in a Jerry Lewis Films, Inc.envelope. (Note that it didn’t actuallyget posted until November 30th.)
Because of the personal nature of the contents, Lewis tookthe added precaution of enclosing the letter in a sec...ond envelope markedPERSONAL.
Lewis used the Laurel and Hardy stamp that was issued in1991, and he drew an arrow pointing to Hardy. Note that the stamp has a small tear on the left edge, probably causedby the cancelling machine.
The letter measures 7.25 inches x 10.25 inches.
