Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:13507 | Maker: Pacific Islanders |
Original/Reproduction: Original | Material: Wood |
A Fijian Ula with Tavatava handle design....it has a large head....This large and bulky specimen was used to kill people; not to hunt birds...….Length is approx. 17 inches
A classic New Caledonia Kanank "Penis" war club.....this one is one of the oldest specimens I've ever owned...probably circa 1840's (maybe earlier)…..A very beautiful dark brown/orange... wood species..(somewhat iridescent)….The edges of the penis head has damages (note - this is a period damage which has patina - suggesting it was used in battle; therefore it possesses a strong Mana)...It's a really nice piece...I've owned countless of these types of phallic war clubs - this is the oldest I've owned to date.
A classic Gilbert Islands (Micronesia) sword...…...Just see photos for best description...This specimen too bears "battle scars"....some broken teeth.....a very dark patina....probably manufactured around the 1820's......measures approx. 15 inches....it's an ex - Zemanek- Munster German auction house piece.
All 3 specimens have the usual features (dents/cracks/chips...etc) indicative of authenticity and old age....Despite the normal age related defects...all 3 pieces are in solid good condition...Again, just examine photos for best description.
I can sell individually..... but you will buy at a better price if you buy the lot.
