This is an early Maynard & Noyes Black Ink bottle from the 1840s with its original label.....no embossing in the glass. Label guaranteed original to this bottle....BLACK WRITING INK PREPARED BY MAYNARD & NOYES BOSTON E.PLURIBUS UNUM...etc.. This ink however light when opened, turns to a jet black by exposure to the air....
..hand blown in 2 part mold, bimal....deep Olive Green....round......4 1/4"tall.....
Sparkling attic nice with one big chip off the flared lip. No oth...er chips or damage. A sparkling clean bottle with no haze. This bottle could have been made at Stoddard or at a Connecticut glasshouse, but it is definitely New England glass. It came from my own personal collection. I'm thinning out some of my bottles to make room for others.
