Antique Clark Stanley Snake Oil Quack Medicine Glass BottleTrue 1 oz trial /sample size. Hand blown clear glass into a mold. Tooled top. Just 4.5 inches tall. Square cross section. This is the smallest and rarest of all the Clark Snake Oil Bottles. Does not have volume embossed on bottle. Probably precedes the 1.5oz. bottle that is slightly taller. Original bottle from the late 1800's. Not dug up! Never buried. Beautiful condition. Very rare to find these in new condition. No defects. ...Found in an old closed Pennsylvania pharmacy. No paper label, box, or cork included. Embossed in relief with the following text :CLARK STANLEY (side 1)

Stanley claimed that, starting in 1879, after years working as a cowboy, he studied for more than two years with a Hopi medicine man. This included learning the "secrets of snake oil". With the help of a Boston druggist he began marketing his product at Western medicine shows, etc. In 1893 he and his live rattlesnakes gained attention at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This will be a gem in any antique bottle collection. See photos for details. No chips or cracks. Some tiny bubbles may be seen under magnification (normal for the era and manufacturing technique). Absolutely no hazing, wear, or frosting of surface [as seen on bottles recovered from underground privies.] No internal stains or residue. They don't get better than this!
